Eight weeks old is when training will have to commence. Lately reputable breeders are starting their puppy imprinting at 3 weeks until the dog goes to their new homes. Obedience training can be started immediately. You doesn’t have to wait until the dog is mature in order to train them.

Conventional learning will have to commence with positive reinforcement training the moment your new puppy arrives in your home. Don’t wait until they’re 6 months or older to commence. Commence right away.

Why?

Simple, the earlier the better. Dogs learn from repetition and consistency. A dog that started training at 8 weeks and has consistent training are going to be set for long term success.

I commence puppies with sit, down, leash training and coming when called. Leash training is just attaching a long light leash to the puppy and letting them drag it around. This makes the puppy ready for leash manner training later on when they’re capable to get out and roam the world with me.

Sit, down, and coming when called are a taught at 8 weeks of age. By starting these behaviors early you will support your pooch retain the behaviors over the long term. Principally because these months are their formative months for learning. Tilt the odds in your favor and catch your pooch when they are in fresh mind and eager to absorb the lessons.

Subsequently, whether or not you adopt an older dog you can commence training them immediately in addition. No dog is too old for training.

My advice, read a good and pro. book or video on positive dog training and commence today.
